Populism in India
Article Abstract:
Populist political forces have always played important roles in Indian politics, as seen when democracy in India was undermined by a period of authoritarian rule but was again strengthened by the populism of many of India's language and caste parties. Populism is likely to continue to play an important role in Indian politics, as is presently significant in the mobilization of the lower castes.

When home-based workers raise their voices: an Indian perspective
Article Abstract:
This article examines the impact of globalization on the increase of outsourced home-based work in India. The author asserts that the establishment of networks of workers who are engaged in global collective action have been facilitated by globalization.

Article Abstract:
The controversy over Indian nationalism raised by the presidential candidacy of Italian-born Sonia Gandhi is discussed. An argument is presented that the real issue is whether politicians should determine Indian identity.
