Article Abstract:

Decisions regarding preferential treatment such as reductions and waivers of enterprise income taxes and consolidated industrial and commercial taxes was accorded to joint Chinese-foreign investment ventures and joint Chinese-foreign cooperative enterprises among others. This was done in order to facilitate the expansion of foreign economic cooperation and technical exchanges at four special economic zones and fourteen coastal port cities.
