Research note: Objectivity and the environment - epistemic value of biases

The epistemological dilemma faced by environmental sociologists that the ideal of objective and neutral science has lost its credibility, threatening to lead to the 'abyss of relativism' in which it is not possible to differential between more or less reliable claims about the environment is addressed.

Hostage-taking remains a risk for UN peacekeeping troops, just as the use of force is sometimes inevitable in peacekeeping operations. Both could be prevented, however, with reinforcements and a redeployment of forces.
