New details emerge on START follow-on treaty
Article Abstract:
The follow-on agreement to the Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty is expected to be delayed as the US and Russia have agreed to treat the two agreements as separate and distinct from each other. Under the follow-on treaty, some weapons systems will have to be reclassified. This is expected to result in new negotiations and thus delay the new agreement.
