Article Abstract:
An evaluation of the economic prospects of the United States following the terrorist attacks of 2001 is made by the Director of the Institute for International Economics. It is observed that the various global monetary authorities should act together decisively and quickly to restore economic confidence.

Failing our youth: America's K-12 education
Article Abstract:
Reforming America's K-12 education to reflect better worker performance and skills is a vital goal for our educators and policymakers. Statistics show that real earning power in the 1990s will steadily decline and there will also be fewer jobs available for the increasing work force.

An interview is conducted with the Dean of the Haas School at the University of California, Laura D'Andrea Tyson, regarding the economic aspects of the terrorist attacks on the country in September 2001. It is observed that the attacks will result in further economic decline.
