The greens in the Belgian elections of 21 May 1995: growing doubts
Article Abstract:
Electoral losses of the green parties, Ecolo and Agalev, in the May 21, 1995 Belgian elections show that the greens lack a reliable vote bank. The greens lost some of their seats by only a narrow margin but this does not help their finances which are allocated according to the number of seats. The greens appeal to young urban voters but their appeal to the rural masses is poor. The greens have recognized the need for image building and fielding reputed candidates.
