A survey, critique, and new defense of term limits
Article Abstract:
A survey on term limits, an important part of the US political system, shows that no significant changes have occurred in the state legislatures that have adopted them. Public policy of Congress may or may not be affected by term limits. Power of special interests may be reduced, but without significant effect. It is not known why people like to reelect politicians and also vote for term limits. Risk averse and dangerous coalitions are avoided by having term limits.

Limits to regulation due to interaction of the patent and commerce clauses
Article Abstract:
Article I, section 8 of the US Constitution has traditionally been interpreted as giving the federal government the power to grant patents. However, the 18th century sense of "patent" referred to granting any exclusive economic right, and the current practice of patent power may well be unconstitutional.
