U.S. imposes penalties over Russian-Indian rocket deal
Article Abstract:
The US has imposed sanctions against a number of Russian and Indian firms because of a deal involving the transfer of sophisticated rocket technology. The sanctions, which will last for two years, prohibit tradebetween these firms and American companies. In addition, Russia's Glavkosmos and India's Space Research Organization were disqualified from any US government contracts. The sanctions were imposed as a punitive measure against US fears about the proliferation of missile technology.
