Article Abstract:
Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf is under pressure from Washington over democracy and his disgraced nuclear scientist, A.Q. Khan, just as everyone is pointing to the source of renewed Taliban support. Former Prime Ministers Nawaz Sharif and Benazir Bhutto have started their anti-Musharraf campaign by signing a Charter of Democracy on May 14, 2005, in London, promising to context 2007's elections and vowing to end the military's role in politics.
