Acculturative stress, depression, and suicidal ideation among Central American immigrants
Article Abstract:
Suicide risk among Central American immigrants has been examined, with a focus on the relationship between acculturative stress, depression, and suicidal ideation. Variables related to depression and suicidal ideation include family functioning, social support, expectations for the future, religiosity, education and income, and agreement with the decision to migrate.
