Adolescent mental health literacy: Young people's knowledge of depression and help seeking
Article Abstract:
The mental health literacy of a group of adolescents, with particular reference to their ability to recognize symptoms of depression in their peers is presented. Respondents showed a mixed ability to correctly recognize and label depression, although they were able to differentiate depressed and non-depressed scenarios in terms of severity and expected recovery time.

The relationship of parenting style to self-reported mental health among two subcultures of Chinese
Article Abstract:
This article examines the relationship between parenting styles and measures of mental health among young adults in China. Findings indicate that reduced mental health and increased psychosomatic symptoms were associated with elevated levels of parental overprotection, rejection, denial, punishing, and overinvolvement and lower levels of warmth and acceptance.

When mothers have mental health problems: Parenting as a proximal mediator
Article Abstract:
A study was conducted to find whether parenting mediates the effects of maternal mental health (MMH) problems on academic outcomes even among mothers with serious mental illness. The mediation effect was attributed to a single component of permissive parenting namely the lack of parenting confidence.
