Advanced technology and the quality of working life: the effects of computerized controls on biscuit-making operators
Article Abstract:
A case study was completed that analyzed the effects of computerized control on biscuit-making operators. The company decided to automate to increase production control. Some jobs were eliminated and some jobs were complemented by the use of computers. Because people are required in key positions with automation, it is important for companies to develop human skills, e.g. motivation, for effective production.

Occupational socialization and psychological development: an underemphasized research perspective in industrial psychology
Article Abstract:
It is felt that occupational psychology should place more emphasis on industrial socialization. Socialization plays an important part in the lives of employees. It affects the worker when he is away from the workplace, it affects his cognition and emotions, and it affects an employees' values when he takes on a new position.

Observation of interaction processes in practical training
Article Abstract:
The Practical Training Observation Schedule is discussed. It aims at the analysis of interaction in practical training situations. The PTOS was developed in the context of the metal-working industry. The system is a modification of Flanders' (1970) interaction-analysis system.
