Anorexia nervosa, diabetes mellitus, brain atrophy, and fatty liver
Article Abstract:
The case of a young woman with anorexia nervosa who later developed insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus, linked with brain atrophy and fatty liver, is discussed. This was a challenging case because of the woman's symptoms and manipulative behaviour. It was necessary to adopt a multidisciplinary approach to treatment, including behaviour therapy and cognitive intervention.

"Anorexia saved my life": coincidental anorexia nervosa and cerebral meningioma
Article Abstract:
The case of a 13-year-old girl with coincidental occult intracranial tumour and early-onset anorexia nervosa is discussed. A SPECT examination of regional cerebral blood flow was undertaken during treatment as part of research into the neurobiological basis of anorexia nervosa, and the girl was found to have a large extra-axial lesion in the right frontal area.

Cognitive factors in anorexia nervosa: a case history
Article Abstract:
The case of an anorexic adolescent female with a history of attentional difficulties is discussed. It was found that treating the pre-existing submerged attention problems allowed the patient to concentrate on her treatment for anorexia nervosa and to make substantial gains.
