Attachment and marital functioning: comparison of spouses with continuous-secure, earned-secure, dismissing, and preoccupied attachment stances
Article Abstract:
There is a connection between attachment stance and marital behaviour for wives but not for husbands, according to research into whether individuals' marital functioning is connected with both their own and their partner's attachment stance. It is possible that there is something about the behaviour of at least dismissing and earned-secure men that is linked with less positive marital behaviour in their wives. There was found to be some connection between wives' marital behaviour and both their own and their husband's attachment stance. However, both wives' and husbands' marital perceptions were usually unconnected with either their own or their partners' attachment stance.

Marital satisfaction and marital violence: moderating effects of attributional processes
Article Abstract:
The moderating effects of attributions on the relationship between marital satisfaction as well as husbands' and wives' use of physical aggression against their partners during conflict were analyzed. Results reveal that wives who are maritally distressed are more likely to engage in physical aggression when they perceived their partners as blameworthy for their negative behavior. Furthermore, findings suggest that women and men may differ in the extent or ways in which attributional processes lead to the use of physical aggression in marital relationships.
