Attitudes toward the use of animals in psychological research and education: results from a national survey of psychology majors
Article Abstract:
A national survey of psychology majors reveals that most of the students support the use of animals in psychological research and teaching. However, most of them are opposed to the idea of pain and death being inflicted on the animals. Students support the federal protection of animals and the mandatory pain assessments. Women students and students from the Northeast region are the most opposed to the use of animals in research. The attitudes of the students are similar to the attitudes of practising psychologists.

'Learning to live with what you can't rise above': Control beliefs, symptom control and adjustment to Tinnitus
Article Abstract:
The goal of the current study was to examine the moderating role of perceived control in the relation between symptom severity and adjustment to a chronic health condition, tinnitus. The evaluation revealed that adaptational outcomes are using both an affective measure (depressive symptoms) and a measure of eudaimonic well-being recognizing that psychological adjustment involves more than simply an absence of depression.
