Article Abstract:

The Suicide Attempt Self-Injury Interview (SASII) is described as an instrument designed for assessing the factors involved in nonfatal suicide attempts and intentional self-injury. The final measure obtained by generating SASSI items and evaluating them with factor and content analyses and internal consistency statistics was assessed for reliability and validity with collateral measures.

The effect of earthquakes on the risk of suicide

Article Abstract:

The study aims to evaluate whether a traumatic experience such as an earthquake has any effect on the probability of suicide, especially those who seem psychologically healthy. It is observed that earthquake experience was not a risk factor in suicidal ideation, especially for those who have no social network disturbance, no loss of life in the family, and no major psychiatric illness.

Factors affecting prisoner psychology and an inclination towards anxiety and depression include a psychiatric history, feelings of guilt, lack of social support, religious faith, and a disinclination towards physical activity or hobbies. These findings are used to discuss the prison system in the UK, and how prison life is linked with psychological distress in some prisoners.
