Attitudes towards European Monetary Union in Greece: antecedents, strength and consequences
Article Abstract:
A survey of 644 Greek citizens indicated a general acceptance of Economic and Monetary Union. Greeks believed that a single currency unit would boost economic indicators such as personal income, employment levels, prices of consumer goods and trade relations with other European countries. These expectations were based on attitudes that were defined by dimensions of embeddedness, conviction and internal consistency.
