Attributions and behaviors of parents abused as children: A mediational analysis of the intergenerational continuity of child maltreatment (Part I)
Article Abstract:
The study extends previous research by exploring the mediational properties of parenting styles and their relation to risk factors in the intergenerational cycle of child maltreatment. Families with newborns where at least one of the parents was physically and/or sexually abused as a child (AP families) were compared, in terms of parents' attributions and behavior, to families where the parents had no childhood history of victimization (NAP families).

Article Abstract:
A population study was conducted to study the rate of, and factors associated with, recognition of psychiatric disorders and self-perceived problems among 18-year-old adolescent boys. The findings suggest that only a minority of adolescents with psychiatric problems were recognized as having a psychiatric disorder in the health services.
