Change in MMPI scores from college to adulthood as a function of military service
Article Abstract:
The direction and amount of change in Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory scores from college to adulthood were studied as a function of military service during the Vietnam War. The change scores of civilians were compared with those of veterans classified according to combat exposure type. Cross-sectional analyses results show that differences occurred between the groups only as adults. Although they exhibited similar relative stability, differences were found between them in absolute change on clinical scales using multivariate analysis. It was suggested that combat exposure results in varying negative outcomes.

Event-related potentials during the continuous visual memory test
Article Abstract:
A study of event-related measures associated with the Continuous visual memory test (CVMT) provides psychometric validation of the test and shows that the P300 amplitude measure is related to cortical processes in the brain. The figural memory test involves differentiation of recurring and non-recurring stimuli. A steady increase in P300 amplitude from occipital to frontal sites indicates the role of frontal cortical region in early processing of ambiguous stimuli differences. Figural memory is associated with a different activation of the cortex compared to a verbal memory test.

Mineworkers' Scores on the Group Embedded Figures Test
Article Abstract:
The Group Embedded Figures Test (GEFT) may be of interest in the study of occupational accidents. British mineworkers completed the GEFT. The results support findings that as age increases, there is a shift from field independence to field dependence. The GEFT could be redesigned to make it easier for industrial workers to understand and read.
