Symptom severity in bilingual Hispanics as a function of clinician ethnicity and language of interview
Article Abstract:
Research was conducted to examine symptom severity in bilingual Hispanics seeking mental health services as a function of clinician ethnicity and language of interview. Non-Hispanic white and bilingual Hispanic psychiatrists and psychologists conducted Spanish, English and bilingual interviews of a large sample of bilingual Hispanic, Spanish-dominant patients presenting symptoms of schizophrenia, anxiety disorders and depression. Results support the concept that ethnic and language matching of patient and clinician promote clinical judgments of most severe psychopathology.

Predicting future clinical adjustment from treatment outcome and process variables
Article Abstract:
Parenting practices play a crucial role in bringing about changes in the behavior of antisocial children. Analyses based on the direct observation of child behavior would give better predictions about long term adjustment than ratings by the participating adults. Common issues related to the application of outcome and process data from the treatment of antisocial children figure prominently in forecasting future childhood adjustment.
