Child care quality and children's behavioral adjustment: a four-year longitudinal study
Article Abstract:
Mother and teacher ratings of behavior reveal that the child care quality at daycare centers fails to predict individual differences in children's behavioral problems and social withdrawal after a period of four years. However, home environment, parenting styles, and prior child behavior variables predict the individual variance in behavioral adjustment, especially for maternal ratings of behaviors. A child's behavior in preschool is the best predictor of individual variations in behavioral adjustment after four years of center-based care.

Parenting stress among dual-earner mothers and fathers: are there gender differences?
Article Abstract:
Parenting stress in working mothers and working fathers has many similarities, but is somewhat different. Both the parents show similar anxiety levels about separation from children during working hours. Parenting stress has negative correlation with economic status and education. Child age has a significant effect on parenting stress but child sex has no effect. Parents whose spouses are less supporting feel more stressed.
