Collective induction: twelve postulates
Article Abstract:
Twelve postulates have been derived on collective induction for cooperative search of descriptive, predictive, explanatory generalization, rules and principles using the social combination approach in small group performance. The first six postulates state that collective induction exists in cooperative group consensus. Postulates 7 and 8 establish the social combination approach while postulates 9 to 12 show the relevance of multiple hypotheses and evidence, implications of collective and individual induction and the significance of (-) and (+) hypotheses.

Preventing groupthink revisited: evaluating and reforming groups in government
Article Abstract:
Janis developed three models of small group active in government in order to aid in eliminating the negative effects of groupthink on group decision making. The models include policymaking as problem solving model, the policymaking as value articulation and adjudication model, and the policymaking as institutionalized action model. While groupthink does undermine effective decision making, Janis's recommendations, while preventing groupthink, also delay policymaking by making decisions harder to make.
