Comorbidity of binge eating disorder and the partial binge eating syndrome with bipolar disorder
Article Abstract:
A study was conducted on bipolar disorder patients to identify possible binge eating disorders, night binge eating syndromes and partial binge eating disorders. The results showed that a high percentage of subjects suffered from at least one form of binge eating disorder. Moreover, the eating disorders occurred during the depressive phase of their illnesses. It suggests that serotonin deficiency may have a strong influence on the occurrence of such eating disorders.

Subjective or objective: is the distinction valid?
Article Abstract:
A study aimed at examining whether objective and subjective binges change differently over time and in response to treatment is presented. The results of analyzing data from 101 women with binge eating problems, receiving cognitive behaviour therapy, show no significant differences between objective and subjective binge episodes. Additionally, subjective binges were found to decrease during treatment.

In defense of psychosomatic theory: a critical analysis of Allison and Heshka's critical analysis
Article Abstract:
A reassessment of the reports by D.B. Allison and S. Heshka on obesity reveals their claims that obese individuals are more prone to overreport their food intake levels as flawed. Ascertaining emotional eating through self-reports has negligible use in explaining the variance between weight gain and obesity.
