Electrocortical reflections of face and gaze processing in children with pervasive developmental disorder
Article Abstract:
Brain activity related to the processing of gaze cues among children with pervasive developmental disorders (PDD) is highlighted in which event-related brain potentials (ERPs) are measured during two spatial attention tasks in which a centrally presented stimulus, faces and arrows served as cues. Children with PDD showed abnormally small occipital ERPs in response to both face and arrow stimuli which provide evidence for normal processing of face and gaze changes in children with PDD.
