Counseling services in Turkish Universities

Article Abstract:

The counseling services currently provided by Turkish universities that help to raise awareness of university administrators in terms of problems and solutions encountered by counseling centers at other universities are described. Results of a survey conducted on 39 Turkish universities reveal that the top three concerns among students seeking help from counseling centers are communication problems, adjustments to university life, and romantic relationship.

Article Abstract:

This article discusses the life experiences of Armenian musician Komitas. The author focuses on Komitas's ability to overcome his childhood trauma stemming from the loss of his parents through his creativity, but never was able to cope with the devastating effects of witnessing the ethnic cleansing of the Armenians by the Turkish government.

Post-traumatic stress disorder symptoms in children after the 1999 Marmara earthquake in Turkey

Article Abstract:

The study aims to evaluate the symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder in different age groups of children after the 1999 Marmara earthquake in Turkey. Developmental factors are important in the perception of and response to trauma in children and adolescents.
