Depression and acculturation in Mexican-American women
Article Abstract:
It appears that Mexican-American women tend to be at greater risk for depression during the acculturation process maybe, because they are trying to retain their cultural while living in a new culture. There was however no significant relation between acculturation and psychopathology among Hispanic people living in the US.

Depression and sense of humor
Article Abstract:
A multidimensional sense of humor scale that avoids many of the difficulties inherent in previous scales, was used to study the relationship between a sense of humor and depression. The recent 1994 study partially confirms previous findings that depression decreases when a personal sense of humor increases.

Involuntary subordination or dependency as key dimensions of depressive vulnerability?
Article Abstract:
Social status and submissive behavior may be of significant relevance to depression. Dependency depression is associated with the need for nurturance and close attachment plus the fear of being disapproved and devalued. Depression from a ranking perspective could provide new points of view.
