Developing cultural competence: contributions from recent family therapy literature
Article Abstract:
The growing number of ethnically diverse people has propelled the need for multicultural psychotherapy. A few journals that can guide psychotherapists toward becoming culturally competent have been published in 1995 and 1996, namely, 'Ethnicity and Family Therapy,' 'Training to Think Culturally: A Multidimensional Framework,' The Value of Curiosity and Naivete for the Cross-Cultural Psychotherapist' and 'The Cultural Genogram: Key to Training Culturally Competent Family Therapists.'
