The temperamental characteristics of the Chinese adolescents in Taiwan
Article Abstract:
A Chinese Adolescent Temperament Self rating questionnaire was applied to 1165 Chinese teenagers from high schools in or near Taipei, Taiwan. Statistical examination of the results showed that boys have the tendency to be more active, have a higher task orientation, higher intensity of reaction, higher tactile threshold and lower adaptability compared to girls. Also, junior grade school students have the tendency to have lower rhythmicity, less initial approaching reaction to new stimuli and lower adaptability than higher graders.

Perceived parental rearing, personality and mental status in Japanese adolescents
Article Abstract:
Japanese teenagers enrolled in a foreign exchange student program were administered the Parental Bonding Instrument, the Japanese version of the Maudsley Personality Inventory and the General Health Questionnaire to measure their psychological adjustment. Results showed that home and parental practices influence personality features and these in turn, also influence mental health status.
