Disadvantages but different: Variation among deprived communities in relation to child and family well being
Article Abstract:
Data are collected from administrative database to describe Sure Start Local Programmes in terms of demography, deprivation, and aspects of child and family functioning and grouped using cluster analysis. The findings reveal that the groupings have implications for service delivery and the evaluation of area-based initiatives.

Face-sensitive cortical processing in early infancy
Article Abstract:
The recorded event-related potential (ERP) from adults and 3-month-old infants while they watched faces and matched visual noise stimuli, is presented. Similar amplitude enhancement is observed for faces in the infant N290 and adult N170.
