Coping patterns in adolescent decision making: an Israeli-Australian comparison
Article Abstract:
Australian and Israeli adolescents have broadly similar decision-coping strategies, according to a survey of 428 Australian and 1,028 Israeli high-school students. Australian adolescents scored higher than Israelis on Evasiveness (Cop out), while Israelis outscored Australians on Self confidence as decision makers, and on Vigilance. Both samples demonstrated great differences between genders, with boys in both Australia and Israel showing less panicky behaviour in problem situations than girls, and having greater Self confidence and Complacency scores than girls.
