Evidence-based practice in mental health
Article Abstract:
The specific strategies and resources for clinicians interested in accessing, appraising, and adopting clinical research findings to their professional settings are described. It is concluded that the professional disciplines, whose presumed responsibility is to eliminate inappropriate practice variation, can be successful only if clinicians value the idea of services based on objectively validated, consensually verified knowledge.

Public-academic collaboration in the application of evidence-based practice in Texas mental health system redesign
Article Abstract:
A state university research center at Chicago and the Texas state mental health authority have collaborated to design and evaluate a service package of psychosocial rehabilitation interventions. The changes that this new package brought to the public mental health system are discussed.
