Hale-Bopp and handedness: individual differences in memory for orientation
Article Abstract:
A study was conducted to determine whether memory for the orientation of an inanimate object depends on a person's handedness. The study focused on memory for Comet Hale-Bopp. Results indicated that right-handed and left-handed individuals differed in their memory for the comet's orientation. Right-handed individuals were more likely to recall and recognize the comet as facing tot he left. Findings also showed that memory performance may be influenced by patterns of underlying cerebral motor activation.

N400 effects reflect activation spread during retrieval of arithmetic facts
Article Abstract:
A study was conducted to analyze activation spreads during the retrieval of arithmetic facts using the N400 effect of the event-related brain potential. The N400 amplitude was proven to be inversely proportional to the amount of activation that begins from a priming context. Results indicated that activation spread in an arithmetic memory network is limited to numbers that are table related to one of the operands and that are numerically plausible.
