IQ loss and emotional dysfunctions after mild head injury incurred in a motor vehicle accident
Article Abstract:
Minor traumatic brain injuries to the head, received in motor vehicle accidents can cause serious emotional and intellectual dysfunctions. Patients report problems in routine work due to anxiety, lack of concentration, nightmares, avoidance, and flashbacks. Excessive social demands and insufficient support give setbacks to recovery. Side effects of drugs, impaired information processing and depression curtail efficiency.
