Variation among developmental dyslexics: evidence from a printed-word-learning task
Article Abstract:
Phonological and surface dyslexics were used for a word-learning task to investigate variation among developmental dyslexics. It was found that the surface dyslexics resemble younger normal readers and phonological dyslexics showing a specific phonological deficit.

Are speech perception deficits associated with developmental dyslexia?
Article Abstract:
Dyslexic children and both chronological age (CA) and reading-level (RL) comparison groups were asked to perform phonological awareness and phonemic identification tasks. Dyslexic children were found to have a less defined categorical perception of a bath-path continuum varying voice onset time compared to the CA group but not the RL group. Results indicate that some dyslexic children may have a perceptual deficit that hinders phonological information processing.
