Life on the atoll: Singapore ecology as a neglected dimension of social order
Article Abstract:
The issue of how island ecology helps explain the remarkable low rates of crime that are often attributed mainly to cultural and government policies in Singapore is discussed. Understanding the crime and control on this most densely populated Southeast Asian atoll must begin with how people are dispersed over the limited spatial area.

Provincial laws on the protection of women in China: A partial test of Black's theory
Article Abstract:
Donald Black's theory "The Behavior of Law" that the quantity of law varies with stratification, morphology, culture, organization and social control, is tested. The analyses yield very little support for Black's propositions except significant direct relationships between morphology and the quantity of five types of provincial laws.

The connection between murder and euthanasia is discussed. Euthanasia is considered from the medical, legal and global perspectives and the crime of murder in relation to euthanasia taking into consideration the issue of consent in the law of crime is also discussed.
