Link of manager behavior to supervisor performance rating and subordinate satisfaction
Article Abstract:
The relation of managerial behaviors to the performance ratings of bosses and subordinate satisfaction is tested using the Leadership Behavior Description Questionnaire. Consideration behaviors showed a clearer relation to subordinate satisfaction than to structural behaviors. High performance ratings from bosses were associated with structural behavior. A majority of the 94 managers tested placed emphasis on task-related behaviors. The study introduces certain refinements over previous research.

Application of the Premack Principle of Reinforcement to the quality performance of service employees
Article Abstract:
An analysis describing the application of the reinforcement model is presented. The model is applied to improve quality performance of service employees. The analysis assumes that a more probable or important activity reinforces its less probable or less important counterpart. The reinforcement analysis was applied to fast food service workers. It is shown that reinforcement did exhibit a positive impact on increased quality performance.

Treating suicidal behavior in the mentally retarded: the case of Kim
Article Abstract:
A 36-yr-old woman suffering from major depression and mild retardation was examined. The woman's suicidal behavior is attributed to her mother's death and the termination of her relationship with her therapist. Medication, including Prozac, Thorazine, Ctyomel and Elavil, only worsened her mental condition. Psychiatric counselors advice against direct questioning since these could only aggravate her desire to hurt herself.
