Malaise scores in adulthood of children and young people who have been in care
Article Abstract:
The tendency towards depression of adults, aged 23 to 33 years, was studied using the data from the National Child Development Study. The risk of high Malaise scores (an indicator of depression tendency) is assumed to be greater on the sample who have disadvantaged background than those who have had care experience. However, findings show that adults who have been in care, except women at age 33, continue to have problems in education, employment and marriage, despite numerous intervening experiences.

Latina mothers' attributions, emotions, and reactions to the problem behaviors of their children with developmental disabilities
Article Abstract:
Parents' attributions of responsibility and their reactions to the negative behavior of their children with disabilities were examined. The results support an attributional model of parents' reactions, extending past research by indicating that the more family members rate their disabled relative as responsible for problem behaviors, the more they will react in a harsh and aggressive way.
