Article Abstract:
This article examines the psychological impact of HIV infection on pediatric patients. As effective treatments continue to emerge and more patients survive into adulthood, issues such as the impact of HIV on family functioning, child development, sexual education, diagnosis disclosure, and long-term disease management become more relevant concerns.

Autism and a deficit in broadening the spread of visual attention
Article Abstract:
Autism is correctly associated with an inability to broaden the spatial spread of attention. This factor could explain key aspects of the atypical visual behavior often seen in autistic children, including their superior performance on the Embedded Figures Task and the Block Design subtlest of the Wechsler intelligence scales.

The use of psychotropic medications in children: a British view
Article Abstract:
Many British physicians lack appropriate training in prescribing psychotropic drugs for childhood mental disorders, yet usage and accompanying research is improving. Future research needs to focus on evaluating prescription practice to service developments and to improve training.
