Perceptual grouping and motion coherence in visual search
Article Abstract:
A study was conducted to analyze the function supported by perceptual grouping by motion in visual search and determine the rules governing the association between perceptual grouping and search by excitatory and inhibitory guidance. Results indicated that perceptual grouping by motion supports a critical role in the search for a conjunction of motion and form. Findings also showed that one can eliminate the effects of target and non-target motion phase by moving coherent set of random dots in phase with the target motion.

Multiple visual latency
Article Abstract:
Two experiments were conducted on two authors and two other participants to prove that movement rather than spatial or temporal proximity influences decrease in the relative visual latency (VL) in a movement discrimination task. In the reaction time experiments, subjects were asked to indicate as fast as possible the direction where subsequent flashes occurred. Results indicate that the theory that an invariable VL exists for the whole visual system is hard to support.
