Philosophical and psychological epistemologies in behaviorism and behavior therapy
Article Abstract:
The controversy concerning the logical positivist underpinings of behaviorism need not exist since positivism developed on different lines of thought and because evolutionary epistemology provides an adequate base for philosophical inquiry into the theories of behaviorism. Behaviorists are eclectic in their philosophical beliefs concerning the theory of knowledge because of their specializations within the field. A uniform epistemology which can be adopted is evolutionary epistemology or Willard Quine's naturalized epistemology since they provide an adequate base for philosophical inquiry.

Philosophical and theoretical problems for behavior therapy
Article Abstract:
There are many issues in the field of behavioral therapy such as the positions and meaningfulness of logical positivism, relativism, contextualism and the use of the scientific method that need be explored if the field is to prosper. It was the purpose of "The Mini-Series on: Philosophical and Theoretical Issues in Behavior Therapy" to present these issues to practicioners to do so.

Some clinical implications of contextualistic behaviorism: the example of cognition
Article Abstract:
Contextualistic behaviorism provides a novel perspective to contemporary behaviorism. It allows a different form of treatment in behavior therapy based on the philosophical foundations it ascribes to, which is context. It is the second part in the dual aspect of radical behaviorism, the first one being mechanistic behaviorism. Using cognition as a sounding board, the position of contextualistic behaviorism is explained in terms of philosophical foundations and applications in therapy.
