Validation of the Social Interaction Anxiety Scale and the Social Phobia Scale across the anxiety disorders
Article Abstract:
The accuracy of the Social Interaction Anxiety Scale (SIAS) and the Social Phobia Scale (SPS) are analyzed. The SIAS measures social interactional anxiety while the SPS measure anxiety when a person anticipates being observed by other people. Results show that both the SIAS and SPS are accurate measures of social phobia by differentiating between patients with social phobia, other anxiety disorders and no mental disorder.
