Resolving multiple epigenetic pathways to adolescent depression
Article Abstract:
An approach involving Markov Chain Monte Carlo is used to resolve three distinct pathways involving genes and life events for the development of post-pubertal depression in female twins. The results obtained show that genes, which affect early anxiety, increase sensitivity further to adversity.

Negative life events as an account of age-related differences in the genetic aetiology of depression in childhood and adolescence
Article Abstract:
A questionnaire analyzing negative life events and the role they play on depression amongst children is examined by the parents of twins. It is found that genetic covariation of negative life events is greater for adolescents than the children.

Depressive symptoms in children and adolescents: changing aetiological influences with development
Article Abstract:
Studies show an increase in heritable depressive symptoms as a child becomes an adolescent. It is found that genetic influence plays a greater role than the environmental changes in the depressive symptoms.
