Social context, social behavior, and socialization: investigating the child's developing organization of the behavioral field
Article Abstract:
Scientific research regarding children and their behavior has significantly changed during the last thirty years due mainly to the researchers' realization that a relationship exists between children's psychological processes and phenomena that affect their construction of reality. Experimental child psychology needs to move away from conducting purely conventional experimental inquiries since these result only in incomplete pictures of behavioral systems' dynamic organization. It must transform its techniques and models to obtain a more wholistic perspective of children's behavior.
