Survey Feedback: The Perspectives of Science and Practice
Article Abstract:
A survey feedback program is used in an underground mining company. Unexpected events shape the opinions of organization members toward the program. Facilitators and employees rate the feedback sessions. Upper level managers are more negative as the program goes on. Time devoted to problem-solving activities and topical themes are also rated. The relationship of facilitator perceptions to participants' ratings is noted. Conclusions are evaluated based on practice and on research. Four areas of evaluation are included: total system effectiveness, attitudes toward the change process, specific interventions, and performance outcomes. Perceptions of success, structures, and survey-feedback linkage reflect research indications.

Feedback models of gamma rhythms
Article Abstract:
A review on the use of neuronal network analysis for modeling oscillations in the gamma range concluded that interactive models from olfactory systems may not be applicable for the hippocampus. The review did not note or exemplify certain fundamentals of neuronal systems analysis. The invocation of '40 Hz' for 'gamma' oscillations indicates that the reviewers have not progressed beyond point and limit cycle attractors.

Diverging interpretations associated with the perspectives of the speaker and recipient in conversations
Article Abstract:
The participants in the experiments were asked to assume that they were either the speaker or the recipient of a reply to a potentially face-threatening question. The results suggest that the ambiguity inherent in language use may result in differing interpretations of conversational meaning as a function of perspective.
