The constitution of general and specific mental models of other people
Article Abstract:
This article examines novice piano players and discusses how they became experts. The authors, drawing evidence from a study in which a group of college students were asked to practice a short piece of music, maintain the players developed a mental model of a generalized 'other' in their mind in which they were directed to perform well.

Children's Conceptions of Economics - The Constitution of a Cognitive Domain
Article Abstract:
Children's understanding of economics is investigated in a survey of eighty-nine Israeli children. The children's understanding was tested on subjects ranging from elementary roles to global problems. Children are not prepared for the more complex issues, but are aware of motives of individual agents.

This article presents an overview of mental illness and psychiatric services in Tokyo, Japan. The changes in family life and social structures over the past thirty years have dramatically increased drug dependence, child abuse, violence, and the need for quality mental health care services.
