The development of forgiveness in the context of adolescent friendship conflict in Korea
Article Abstract:
Researchers examined Korean adolescents' understanding and practice of forgiveness using questionnaires and taped interviews. The results confirmed the expected relationship between age and understanding of forgiveness. Younger adolescents were at the stage of developing from revengeful modes of behaviour to an external forgiveness pattern, whilst college students were either at the stage of external forgiveness or moving towards an internal forgiveness pattern. The results also supported the hypothesis that conflict resolution activity is related to the understanding of forgiveness.

The relationships among parent-adolescent differentiation, sex role orientation and identity development in late adolescence and early adulthood
Article Abstract:
A study was conducted on the relationships between identity development, sex role orientation and parent-adolescent differentiation in teenagers. Intergenerational family systems theory-based models, which consider such factors as adolescent identity development, sex role orientation and family differentiation, were employed. Results indicate that sex role orientation and family system differentiation affect ideological and interpersonal identity.

Measuring interpersonal forgiveness in late adolescence and middle adulthood
Article Abstract:
A comparison of college students and parents was conducted to identify differences in interpersonal forgiveness and anxiety associated with hurt. The subjects were evaluated using the Enright Forgiveness Inventory which correlates significantly and negatively with anxiety resulting from hurt feelings in certain developmental areas. Results showed that adolescents were less forgiving and experienced more anxiety than their same-gender parents.
