The distribution of visual attention in infants
Article Abstract:
The visual attention of infants differ in terms of the distribution of attention to different parts of a display. This is affected by the amount of time infants spend looking at objects. A study conducted on 5-, 7- and 9-month old infants presented with two identical geometric forms and a novel form showed that those who spent less time looking at objects exhibited wider distribution of attention and showed greater preference for the novel form.

Gradations of emulation learning in infants' imitation of actions on objects
Article Abstract:
Different gradations of emulation in the imitation of actions on objects by 17-months-old children are explored. The results indicate that emulation in the form of object movement reenactment or affordance learning plays a role in the social learning of actions on objects during infancy.
