Evaluating sexual science: problems and prospects

The four most significant problems sex research faces include the prominence of antiscience and antirealism, the lack of substative theory, continuing debate between the roles of nature and nurture, and the relative newness of this field. Solutions in one area will require resolution in the others.

Love and intimacy may be the most important factors in women's sexual orientation. US social history has varied in its acceptance of relationships between women, and individual women may change the shape of how they define attractiveness over the span of their lives.
