The peer relations of dropouts: a comparative study of at-risk and not at-risk youths
Article Abstract:
Researchers studied the friendship patterns of two groups of high school students, one group with a high risk of leaving school before gaining a diploma, and one with a low risk. They used a peer attachment questionnaire and the Prediction de l'Abandon Scolaire questionnaire with 191 high school students in a suburban, middle-class area. Their findings supported their hypotheses that at-risk students associated more with youths who were not at school and had fewer school friends. One third of the at-risk students had a working friend, compared to 7% of the not at-risk students.

A critique of research on sexual-minority youths
Article Abstract:
It is vital that research into sexual-minority young people samples the wide range of people in this category and then looks at within-group variations. Care must be taken to move beyond conventional paradigms to look at how sexual-minority adolescents resemble all other adolescents and how the vary among themselves.
