The relationship between religiosity and adjustment among African-American, female, urban adolescents
Article Abstract:
A study is conducted on how religion is found to be a significant protective resource against many types of maladaptive adjustment outcomes among adolescent samples. According to the study a description of religiosity in a sample of African-American female teens and examination of religion as a resource for these adolescents by focusing on the association between religiosity and sexual activity, self-esteem, and general psychological functioning is accomplished.

Risk taking and coping strategies among Israeli adolescents
Article Abstract:
A study was undertaken to assess the correlation between risk behaviours and perceptions of benefit and risk in these behaviours on a research sample of 140 Israeli students. The results indicated that perception of benefit and the use of avoidance coping strategies constitute positive relations in the decision to take risks, with implications for intervention programs aimed at adolescents.

Adolescent religiosity and sexuality: an investigation of reciprocal influences
Article Abstract:
The potential bi-directional associations between religiosity and first sexual intercourse are examined. Religiosity might not lead teens to postpone sexual intercourse, rather temperamental differences related to risk-preference, may be responsible for both high importance placed on religion and delayed first sexual intercourse.
